Vernier is the company that makes the probes and sensors used in this training series. The probes and sensors are used to collect real-time data much faster and more accurately than is humanly possible. To gather this data, students require a computer or tablet, a sensor or probe, and the software that lets the two communicate. The use of the Vernier devices and software allow math to be used to quantify and define what is going on with science while making the discoveries in science to bring more meaningful, relevant learning to the numbers in math.

There are several versions of program available. Vernier makes a FREE lite version of their Logger software called Logger Lite. There is a paid version of the software called Logger Pro that is more powerful with advanced features. Vernier also creates free apps for iPads and Android tablets, GoWireless and Graphical Analysis, that connect to wireless sensors and probes. There are even similar apps, such as the Vernier Graphical Analysis app, for computers using the Chrome browser.
